Victoria's Secret
Victoria's Secret is a lingerie phenomenon in the USA where it has over 1,000 stores and a thriving mail order / internet business.
In fact it is the biggest lingerie retailer in the States, with sales of more than five billion dollars a year. Not bad for a company started by Roy Raymond, who saw a gap in the market to market lingerie to men who might be too embarrassed to buy it for their partners in traditional lingerie stores.
The real secret is that there is no Victoria! The name come from the fact that the upmarket image of the original stores featured detailing from the Victorian era.
Although difficult to find in the UK, the Victoria's Secret website in the USA does ship all over the world.
The good news is in 2012, Victoria's Secret launched its new flagship store in the UK in London's Mayfair!
