Maidenform Bras

In 1922, a New York dressmaking company decided to make bras that would better suit their custom made dresses.

The fashion of the day was for bandeau style bras, bras that compressed the breasts to give a boyish look whereas the dressmaking company wanted bras that would enhance rather than deny a woman's natural figure - and the Maidenform bra brand was born. Indeed, it was Maidenform that introduced the idea of different cup sizes.

Famous in the past for its daring I Dreamed advertising campaign, today Maidenform is best known in the UK for its Flexees Shapewear. It has also recently launched a range of Maidenform For Girls first bras that are exclusively available at Debenhams.
